In conjunction with the POET Tree Arbor Day festivities, POET held a poetry contest asking fifth-graders in biorefinery communities to express their views on nature in poetry. The contest drew in over 1,200 poems!

A winner was selected in each biorefinery community including the Sioux Falls area. Winners then advanced to the corporate level where a third-party judge determined the top five poems. POET then awarded the winners a cash prize and the opportunity to be published.
