‘Producing renewable fuel the right way means more than being green and efficient’

POET Biorefining – Preston has received the Governor’s Safety Award for superior performance in workplace safety and health.

The plant was one of 168 employers statewide honored at the Minnesota Health and Safety conference last month. This is the third consecutive year that the plant has received this award.

“Producing renewable fuel the right way means more than being green and efficient,” General Manager Richard Eichstadt said. “It also means creating a safe and secure environment for everyone who works here. It’s an honor that the biorefinery has been recognized for doing that.”

“An effective safety program reduces injuries and costs, maximizes productivity and builds morale,” said Carol Bufton, president of the Minnesota Safety council. “Employers like POET Biorefining – Preston understand that safety is good business, now more than ever.”
