The Potential of Ethanol

There's no debating the fact that fossil fuels are running out. Most estimates put our world oil supply at about 50 years. Ethanol can extend that timeframe. U.S. motorists already get more fuel from American ethanol than from Saudi Arabian oil. But the greatest promise lies with cellulosic ethanol. While traditional corn-based ethanol already provides 50-80 percent more energy than it takes to produce, cellulosic ethanol will increase that figure dramatically.
